कोलकाता रेप और हत्या मामले को लेकर चल रहे देशव्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शनों के बीच ममता बनर्जी के नेतृत्व में पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने शनिवार को राज्य के कई मेडिकल कॉलेजों और अस्पतालों में काम कर रहे 42 प्रोफेसरों और डॉक्टरों के ट्रांसफर का आदेश जारी कर दिया। इस आदेश से एक नया विवाद खड़ा हो गया है। हालांकि, पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार का कहना है कि यह नियमित कदम है। बता दें कि कोलकाता के आर जी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज और अस्पताल में 9 अगस्त 2024 को एक 32 साल की ट्रेनिंग कर रहे डॉक्टर के साथ पहले रेप किया गया और फिर उसकी हत्या कर दी गई। इसके बाद देशभर में विरोध प्रदर्शन हुए और प्रदर्शनकारियों ने पीड़िता के लिए न्याय की मांग की।

16 august 2024 को जारी अधिकारी नोटिफिकेशन के मुताबिक पश्चिम बंगाल डॉक्टरचिकित्सा शिक्षा सेवा (WB-MES)  में राज्य के 42 प्रोफेसरों और डॉक्टरों की नियुक्ति और ट्रांसफर किया गया है आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज एंड हॉस्पिटल के भी दो डॉक्टर शामिल हैं डॉक्टर संगीता पाल और डॉक्टर शुप्रिया दास

Amid the nationwide protests over the Kolkata rape and murder case, the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government issued transfer orders on Saturday for 42 professors and doctors working in various medical colleges and hospitals across the state. This decision has sparked a new controversy. However, the West Bengal government has stated that this is a routine measure.

It is noteworthy that on August 9, 2024, at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, a 32-year-old trainee doctor was first raped and then murdered. This incident led to widespread protests across the country, with demonstrators demanding justice for the victim.

According to the official notification issued on August 16, 2024, 42 professors and doctors in the West Bengal Medical Education Service (WB-MES) have been appointed and transferred. This includes two doctors from R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Sangeeta Pal and Dr. Supriya Das.
