Woman Confronts Louis Vuitton Store Staff with 6.85 Million Cash
A wealthy woman in China found a unique way to take revenge on the staff at a Louis Vuitton store who allegedly mistreated her. About two months ago, the staff at the Louis Vuitton store reportedly treated her disrespectfully, which deeply upset her, prompting her to plan her revenge. Known on the Chinese social media platform ‘Xiaohongshu’ as “Xiaomayouren,” the woman shared her experience at the Louis Vuitton outlet in the Starlight Place Shopping Center.
In June, she entered the store expecting to see the latest fashion dresses, but instead faced indifference from the staff. Despite carrying a luxury Hermès handbag, a symbol of prosperity, the store’s employees allegedly ignored her.
The Staff Did Not Properly Attend to the Woman
The store staff directed her to look at outdated seasonal dresses and did not properly attend to her. Instead of making eye contact and engaging with her, they brushed her off.
Frustrated by this treatment, the woman contacted Louis Vuitton’s headquarters to file a complaint, but received no response, which only fueled her anger.
The Woman Waited for Two Months
Determined to take revenge, the woman patiently waited for two months. Then, she returned to the store with her personal assistant and a friend, carrying a bag filled with 600,000 yuan (approximately 6.85 million rupees) in cash.
The three of them tried on various items under the pretense of shopping and ended up selecting everything they liked, all to be paid for in cash. Counting such a large amount of cash took the store staff about two hours, and as soon as they finished counting, the woman played her trump card.
“We’re Not Buying Anything”
The woman told the sales assistant, “We’re not buying anything right now, and we’re leaving.” With that, she took her money and walked out of the store with her companions.
Later, the woman wrote on Xiaohongshu, “How could I buy their product just to improve their work performance?” Her story quickly went viral, receiving widespread support from netizens.
The Ending Was Hilarious
One user commented, “The ending was hilarious. I always wonder why these sales assistants are so arrogant.” Another user wrote, “They sell luxury items, but that doesn’t mean they themselves are luxury.”
Louis Vuitton’s China office has not yet responded to the incident. Questions about the attitude of staff at luxury brand stores in the country have been raised frequently, and this is not the first such case.
In 2021, a woman was twice turned away by a luxury beauty store’s sales assistant because she was dressed casually and wore no makeup. After the incident went public, the store manager had to issue an apology.
